Just Debbie Being Debbie… A Little Laughter Goes a Long Way!

A little about me, why I share what I share, and why I believe we all need a giggle now and then.
Let’s face it, folks. The world has gotten pretty darn serious. Between the news, the worries, the uncertainty, and everyday challenges, sometimes it feels like we can’t catch a break.
We can’t ignore the serious stuff, of course. But I believe we all need a little escape from it now and then. Sometimes a silly post, a good laugh, or a quiet giggle to yourself is just what the doctor ordered!
That’s where I come in.
I’ll be the first to admit that some of the things I post might strike you as juvenile, ridiculous, or just plain nonsense. And that’s okay! Not everything has to be educational or life-changing. Sometimes it’s perfectly fine to laugh at something silly and move on with your day.
I’m simply trying to sprinkle a little sunshine into somebody’s day. If something I share makes you smile, chuckle, shake your head, or think, “Good grief, Debbie, where do you come up with this stuff?” then I’ve accomplished what I set out to do.
Life is too short to take every single thing so seriously. We can care deeply about the world and still make room for a little silliness.
And yes, I sell Color Street nail strips and beauty products. Some might think it’s a little crazy for a woman in her 70s to still be running a business and talking about pretty nails, skincare, and beauty. But here’s the thing: it brings me joy!
I believe women never outgrow the need to feel good about themselves. We spend so many years taking care of everybody else, raising families, working, worrying, and putting ourselves near the bottom of the list. Eventually, we deserve a little pampering, too.
Whether it’s a pretty manicure, a little skincare, or simply connecting with women who understand this stage of life, I love being part of that. I’m not here to pressure anybody into buying anything. I’m here because I enjoy what I do, I treasure the friendships, and I know there are women out there who could use a little encouragement.
I’m retired, but I’m not ready to sit in a rocking chair and wait for my next birthday just yet! I’ve still got things to do, people to meet, ideas to try, and plenty of nonsense left in me.
So if you’re here for the nail talk, welcome. If you’re here for beauty tips, welcome. If you’re here for inspiration, a few giggles, or something to break up the monotony of everyday life, you’re in the right place.
And if something I post isn’t your cup of tea, that’s perfectly fine, too. We all have different tastes, opinions, and senses of humor. There’s room for all of us.
If I can make even one person smile on a difficult day, remind one woman she’s worth a little pampering, or bring a moment of laughter into someone’s stressful day, I consider that time well spent.
I’m just a woman in her 70s doing my best to enjoy this crazy ride and remind other women that we’re not done living, laughing, or having fun just because we’ve accumulated a few more birthdays.
Thank you for being here and being part of my little corner of the world. And if I happen to be the reason you giggle at your phone and somebody asks what you’re laughing at, just tell them it’s Debbie being Debbie!
With love, a little sass, and plenty of silliness,
Debbie
